Procrastination is a common problem that many people struggle with and can have a negative impact on productivity, performance, and mental health.

Procrastination includes putting off tasks such as studying for an exam, completing a project, or paying bills. It can also take the form of avoiding certain activities such as going to the gym or attending social events.

Often caused by fear of failure, low self-confidence, perfectionism, lack of motivation and even distractions, procrastination can be overcome by simple steps such as:

  • Developing a plan of action which will make tasks easier to manage and tick off.

  • Setting realistic goals to keep you motivated and on track.

  • Breaking tasks into smaller, manageable chunks to prevent you from getting distracted.

  • Eliminating distractions which could mean turning off your phone, closing your email, or blocking certain websites.

  • Rewarding yourself for progress which could be something simple such as taking a break or treating yourself to a snack.
